Employment
The roles and responsibilities of the independent tenant GPs and Southside Family Medical's employees are distinct and are governed by their respective contractual and employment arrangements. Southside Family Medical regularly reviews its employment arrangements against applicable award requirements, the National Employment Standards (NES) under the Fair Work Act 2009, and the National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER), to support safe working practices and ensure compliance with applicable employment obligations.
Practice Nurse
We anticipate a potential Registered Nurse vacancy in early to mid-2027. Nurses with experience in general practice who are interested in this opportunity are welcome to submit their curriculum vitae (CV) for our consideration.
Receptionist
We are seeking a full-time receptionist, preferably with experience in general practice and general office administration.
If you enjoy working in a busy practice, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and enjoy interacting with people, we would love to hear from you. Please email us to express your interest and include your CV for consideration.
Patient Feedback
Tasmanian Family Medical and Southside Family Medical (Burnie) take pride in the practice-wide accreditation by AGPAL, and in addition, in the training site and supervisors accreditation by both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. These external and regular assessments and audits by peers and professionals help ensure accreditation standards are maintained for the medical safety and highest level of health care for all of our patients.
From time to time this Practice invites patients to complete a questionnaire on their views of the Practice and how it could be improved. These surveys are completely confidential and help us to improve our services.
